College Puerto Rico Mission Trip 2021

Thank you for stopping by to visit our website about the upcoming college mission trip to Puerto Rico! We are excited about the opportunity to help hurting people. Weimar University and Academy are teaming up with Build and Restore International and the Southern Puerto Rico Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists to reach out to those who need a hand up. As you are probably aware of, the island was devastated by Hurricane Maria in September of 2017. Four years later, 10 of thousands of homes are still damaged. The storm ravaged the island, killing close to three thousand people, destroying 80% of the crops, causing the largest blackout in the history of the US, closing 25% of the schools and forcing over 100,000 people to flee the island. Combine this with the fact that Puerto Rico has the highest poverty rate in the US and you have hurting people that need healing. By invitation from the president of the Southern Puerto Rico Conference of Seventh Day Adventists, we will be working on several projects, including helping to renovate an Adventist Academy in Ponce, helping to repair a storm-damaged school in Arroyo and doing free health screen, reading glasses, depression recovery meetings, family health and gospel presentations. We really appreciate your desire to help us to reach out a helping hand to the people of Puerto Rico. Please note that your donations are tax-deductible. Again thank you for helping us to help others.
